Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
Earl Lawrence talks about the FAA's Special Review Team Report on the Zodiac CH 601XL Airplane. A wing structure that does not meet ASTM design standards for a 1,320 lb airplane was one of the concerns raised in the report. Earl talks about the teamwork between the FAA, the manufacturer and others which helped provide the information owners need to stay safe. Experimental Aircraft Association (2/23/10)

Ken Bricker, Summit Aerosports, Inc.
Summit Powered Parachutes has a new owner and a new location in a new country. Ken Bricker joins us to talk about moving from instructor and dealer in the United Arab Emirates to powered parachute manufacturer in Michigan. Summit Aerosports, Inc. (2/23/10)

Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
The Rotax 912 series of engines are the most common engines found on light sport aircraft designs today. Mike Stratman talks about the history of the 4-stroke design including the military use of the family of engines and how the TBO has managed to move to the 2,000 hours we see today. California Power Systems, Inc. (2/23/10)

Scott Hughes, Hughes Aero Corporation
Scott Hughes joins us to talk about the five year anniversary of the first flight of the Hughes Predator powered parachute. The newest manufacturer in the business to achieve S-LSA status, the Predator has already created its own collection of fans. Hughes Aero Corporation (2/23/10)

Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
A lot of sport pilot instructors are worried about whether they will be in business ever again. Current actions (or inaction) from the FAA is putting a lot of flight instructors and their students in an impossible situation where CFI's can't use their own E-LSA aircraft to provide training. The regulations allow it, but the guidance isn't clear from the FAA to its own people. Earl Lawrence discusses the details and the work that is going on. Experimental Aircraft Association (2/16/10)

Scott Lewis, Popular Rotorcraft Association
The past week or so has been pretty busy at PRA headquarters. Rick Marshall resigned as president of the PRA and Scott Lewis became the new president. We talk with Scott about his new position and what he plans to achieve as the new leader of the PRA. Popular Rotorcraft Association (2/16/10)

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp
At the Sebring Expo, JIm Sweeney got a chance to fly the MySky MSONE. He describes the airplane, how it flies and where it fits into the LSA inventory. SweeneyCorp (2/16/10)

Mo Sheldon, Airparamo
The Arizona Flying Circus is one of the events where the guys in the Southwest have a great time enjoying pleasant weather and great camaraderie. We talk to the King of MoTown, Mo Sheldon, about this year's desert party. Airparamo (2/16/10)

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp
In short order the 30th Annual Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council Safety Seminar will be held. Thirty years is a big anniversary which will mark the last year that Frank Beagle will be the emcee of the event. Jim Sweeney talks about the guests, the vendors, and more. SweeneyCorp (2/16/10)

Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
There's good news, but not exactly great news coming out of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The good news is that the TSA has figured out that it is better to work with general aviation than against it. But before you break out the party hats thinking that the TSA is just going to go away, take a moment to think again. Earl Lawrence explains the new tack the TSA may take. Experimental Aircraft Association (2/9/10)

Paul Hamilton, Adventure Productions
Paul Hamilton is not just a the producer of great video and written training products. He is also a very accomplished trike pilot. So much so that he was invited to Hawaii to provide introductory training flights to vacationers there. He talks about both the beauty and the challenge of flying there. Adventure Productions (2/9/10)

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp
We visit with Jim Sweeney about flying the PiperSport. Jim got the chance to do just that at the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo and he talks about the plane, its place in the market and how it flies. SweeneyCorp (2/9/10)

Jeff Goin, FootFlyer.com
Jeff Goin is back from the Salton Sea in California where he and others did a LOT of PPG flying. He talks about the annual event, who showed up and some of the filming he was able to get accomplished. FootFlyer.com (2/9/10)

Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
The FAA published changes to the Sport Pilot Regulations last week. Earl Lawrence joins us to talk about what is in the changes as well as some of the things that were initially proposed, but did not make it into the rule. Experimental Aircraft Association (2/2/10)

Dan Johnson, ByDanJohnson.com
Dan Johnson is back from the Sport Aviation Expo himself and gives us a report on everything -OK, maybe just a lot of the things- he saw and did at the show. The show is getting large enough that it is difficult to really visit with everyone there, but he tried. ByDanJohnson.com (2/2/10)

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp
Jim Sweeney flew CubCrafters Carbon Cub SS at the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo. CubCrafters engineers have taken the 1949 Piper Super Cub design and applied plenty of modern materials technology to it to minimize weight and increase performance. Jim talks about the plane and how it flies. SweeneyCorp (2/2/10)

Michael Harwood, AirSport Adventures
Powered parachute instruction has changed a lot over the past five years and we talk with Michael Harwood about it. He is one of the few instructors out there who will travel to a person's home field to conduct flight training. AirSport Adventures (2/2/10)
